Universal Music and DaBaby has entered into a publishing partnership.

DaBaby has scored himself a recording deal with the prestigious label that is considered part of the "big iii" in the manufacture, Billboard reported. Still relatively new on the music scene, DaBaby released his debut studio album but in March of this year. The "Suge" rapper had a joint contract with Southward Coast Music Group and Interscope Records, with the latter responsible for releasing Babe on Baby. The album, which featured Offset, Rich Homie Quan, Rich the Kid, and Stunna 4 Vegas, debuted at number 25 on the Billboard 200. Interscope as well released DaBaby'due south second album, Kirk, which hit shelves in September.

The North Carolina native has now proven his worth and is moving up in the music ranks, with Universal now set to handle the global publishing of his music — including that released via S Declension.

"A talented artist and songwriter, DaBaby has garnered hundreds of millions of streams and amassed a huge global fanbase," Universal chairman and CEO, Jody Gerson, said in a statement. "With support from myself, our A&R team and Interscope Records, UMPG's Ari Gelaw [UMPG A&R director] developed a close human relationship with DaBaby and South Coast Music Group to build this exciting partnership. We are looking forward to many neat years of success with DaBaby."

The 27-yr-former, who formerly went by the moniker Baby Jesus, is feeling confident almost the new bargain.

"I feel bang-up about my decision to join UMPG," he said. "I'chiliad looking forward to working with their team and taking my vision to new heights."
