| CITY OF GRAND RAPIDS invites applications for the position of: City Edifice Official | | SALARY: | $41.61 - $53.10 Hourly $86,543.00 - $110,446.00 Annually | OPENING Date: 12/28/21 | | Closing DATE: 01/28/22 11:59 PM | | NATURE OF WORK: | The purpose of this chore is to verify, enforce and approve building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical construction to exist built in accordance with P.A. 230 and State of Michigan Construction Codes and standards; problems required permits and use and occupancy certificates; supervises and manages inspectors and plans examiners; and administers structure codes, rules, and regulations. This is highly responsible supervisory, administrative, and technical work in overseeing the review of construction documents, managing inspection staff and their workload, and administering the enforcement of building and construction requirements and codes. Work involves oversight of construction code plan review; training and management of division staff; recommending lawmaking and policy changes as appropriate; establishing and implementing administrative procedures; preparation of statistical, written, and oral reports as required; meeting with design professionals, developers, and property owners resolving differences between staff and citizens. - Responds to citizen and contractor complaints

| | MINIMUM Training AND EXPERIENCE: | Required Instruction and Experience - Available'south degree in engineering, architecture, political scientific discipline, public assistants, or a business-related degree
